Pastor Ferlander N. Lewis is an admired leader and teacher. He is known for his dynamic preaching and teaching, ministerial and business vision, entrepreneurial “know-how," and his service to the church and community.
Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Lewis can be found weekly at his church, New Mount Olive, a non-denominational congregation, serving God’s people by providing spiritual direction and instruction. Through his leadership New Mount Olive has grown in every area that reflects the Kingdom of God, moving from less than 100 members to over 2,500 members.
Raised in the church all of his life, he confessed hope in Christ in 1969. Since that time Pastor Lewis has been “Aggressively Advancing God’s Agenda Without Apology!” through his messages of hope and inspiration which he delivers weekly on TLN Network Television.
Pastor Lewis is listed in the Library of Congress for his outstanding achievements as a Pastor and for his community involvement. He is a noted and sought-after speaker, having preached at many national and international conventions, churches, universities, and civic organizations across the country. He is also an accomplished musician and singer.
His concern for the problems of the youth in his community inspired him to open the doors to New Mount Olive Christian Help Center (NMOCHC) in 1998. The Christian Help Center is a community-based after school program delivering comprehensive services to young people who reside in Harvey, Illinois and surrounding communities. Pastor Lewis believes millions of school-age children who spend their after school hours unsupervised, mainly watching television, are at-risk of dabbling in sex, drugs and gangs. He believes that the odds of succeeding in life can be dramatically improved through structured afterschool programs that connect mentors and caring adults with youth.
Lastly, but certainly not least, Pastor Lewis is married to First Lady Janice, and they have four children, DiVina, Jeffrey, Jade, and Julian.
